The data’s there: mothers with doula support report more positive feelings about childbirth and postpartum, have higher self-esteem, and experience a more joyful transition to motherhood. Ready to have an empowered birth and postpartum experience? You’re in the right place.
Daytime Doula is nurturing for the new family! Includes hands-on support and teaching of newborn care, feeding methods, soothing, bathing; guidance on breastfeeding and building a good breastmilk supply; care for baby (and other young children if applicable) while you sleep or shower; care for mom during her recovery; assistance with sibling transition; nourishing meal & snack preparation and planning; light household chores such as dishes and laundry; running errands for you; accompanying you on outings (such as to the pediatrician or chiropractor)-- always with a compassionate heart and listening ear.
Nighttime Doula is similar but emphasizes caring for the baby while you sleep. Breastfed babies will be brought to you to nurse, then I will burp, change, and settle your baby. Bottle-fed babies will be completely cared for throughout the night.
Birth Doula is supporting you during pregnancy, preparing you for birth, and accompanying you during active labor. Includes one or two prenatal visits (up to 4 hours total) to get to know each other, develop your birth plan, and discuss labor stages, comfort measures, aromatherapy, and positioning; 24/7 on-call starting at 38 weeks; continuous support through active labor, the birth, and for about 2 hours after birth; one postpartum visit to review your birth and see how you’re feeling.
